MBBKA Library Resources

Si hortum in bibliotheca habes, deerit nihil.

Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 – 42BC)
Ad Familiares, Letter IV to Varro

Translated – “If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.”

The MBBKA has a small collection of books relevant to bees and beekeeping, a few of which are illustrated above.

Just before the first lockdown we tidied the collection up, selling a number of the less current or relevant books to Northern Bee Books and using the money received to refresh the library.

The books in the collection are available for loan to any current MBBKA member.

For administrative purposes, the library is split into Beginners, Reference, BBKA Modules and Microscopy collections, but anyone is welcome to borrow from any of the collections.

Three catalogues of all books in the library have been created…

While MBBKA no longer has a designated Librarian, anyone wishing to borrow a book and we can make arrangements for the book(s) to be collected. Do contact us via the contact form for more information or if you have any questions.
